As many of you know, we went to Hawaii last week to celebrate our 6th anniversary. We wanted to give some day by day highlights. Hopefully by narrowing down our 1000 pictures into a few per day, it will keep things short and sweet.
Our day started with the alarm clock buzzing at 4:30 am. We kissed the still sleeping kids, gave a very sleepy Amanda a good-luck/good-bye wave, and headed to the airport. Noon Hawaii time we landed safely at the Kahului Airport in Maui. We grabbed our luggage and our fancy convertible rental car and went to explore our island paradise that we would be calling home for the next 5 days!
Here is a picture of each of us in our super-touristy clothes we wore on Monday. We are at Po’olenalena Beach Park in Wailea.
After a little bit of exploring, we checked into our condo and headed for Lahaina, the former capital of the Nation of Hawaii. On the way to Lahaina one of the mountains was burning. Luckily with some cool fire-helicopters, they got the flames out before any major damage happened.
We spent the evening at the Royal Lahaina Luau. Sunset was just about as perfect as you could get. The music, stories, dancing and food was the perfect start to our week.

AAAH-we are leaving to go there on Tuesday! We will be in Oahu, Happy Anniversary and have fun!
