We haven't really celebrated Pioneer Day, but we had fun times ON Pioneer Day and I thought I could share. We went to lunch at Tucano's. Because it tastes good, and because we only had to pay for Oliver and two drinks because I had a birthday free meal card. Good planning I thought. And it was so good...talking about it makes me want to go back. MMmm...brown sugar glazed pork...turkey wrapped in bacon...and the boys loved the fried bananas!
Then we walked over to the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory and grabbed a few things to taste. They were yummy. One of my favorite things is chocolate covered pretzel rods. That love started back in Nauvoo at the Fudge Factory where they have Turtle pretzel rods(walnuts & chocolate & caramel...). I enjoy them wherever I can find them now since I don't get back to Nauvoo often enough. I also wanted to try a few other things. I will have to go back though because I think their specialty is random covered apples and I wasn't in the mood for that today.
Then I had to devote a few hours to working and preparing things for the coming week's check-ins. That went well.
Then! We got to do something we'd never done before. We went to the CLAS Ropes Course. It was a beautiful night for it and it was so much fun. Happy Early Birthday Daniel! (It was a surprise party for Oliver's cousin. Lena did a great job planning and pulling it off!). We showed up late, but were still able to do some awesome things. I climbed the rock wall(well, I tried. I've never climbed before and I only made it halfway up when I got stuck and then my ankle decided it wanted to stop supporting me).
We went on the zipline which was amazing!
Oliver liked it so much, he did it twice.
I loved the view from the platform. The course is on West Center Street in Provo, almost to Utah Lake. And out there are a lot of fields and farms and I loved it! While Oliver was up top, a hawk flew by and he was at the same level as the hawk. It was very cool!

Then there is this giant swing. You get hooked up and then some strong friends help pull you up to the top where you let go and you just start swinging! It's like 40 feet tall or something crazy like that. I wasn't adventurous enough to try and flip, but Oliver was.
I enjoyed it because Oliver brought Evan over who thought it was amazing and he kept giggling as I swung back and forth over his head. Ryan enjoyed himself the ENTIRE time because he of course has figured out that Oliver's cousins love him. So he can go to any of them at any time and they'll pick him up.
It was a great night and I was so excited to be outside on a beautiful evening. On the way home we could see lightning in the distance and its raining now. What a great day!
