14 on the 14th

I decided I wanted to try to document our lives a little better this year and I thought doing 10 on the 10th in 2010 and 11 on the 11th in 2011 was an effective way to do that. So I planned on carrying our camera around all day and documenting snippets of our lives. I got a few pictures of our morning, and then...I learned my lesson. Lesson 1: If you want to take photos with a digital camera, maybe you should charge the battery first. Lesson 2: Remember where you put the battery charger.
The end of this tale is that there are not 14 pictures to visually document our day, so instead, here are 14 blips to explain it.
1. I like waking up and being able to give a genuine smile to my sweetheart.
2. Evan is not difficult to wake up in the mornings.
3. Ryan is.
4. I played volleyball.
5. Oliver had 65 students sign up for his enrichment of origami...because there weren't a lot of other "fun" options.
6. I tried my key to the ward building for the first time to drop off treats for our activity tonight. Luckily it worked.
7. The boys and I were entertained by Shrek the Musical on Netflix after lunch.
8. We couldn't find Ollie in his classroom and asked the counseling office secretary to page him to return to his classroom. She asked if I was his wife and so then paged him on the intercom with "Mr. Hansen, there is a pretty lady requesting that you return to your classroom please." I think I blushed.
9. I got very wet in the last 10 minutes of swim practice(I need to remember to not stand so close to the pool when they are doing starts!).
10. Oliver, Evan & Ryan went for a drive west to Skull Valley and saw a beautiful sunset on Onaqui Peak from Horseshoe Spring.
11. I played Human Foosball with the Young Men & Young Women at the church. It was fun and entertaining and even a bit of a workout.
12. Evan must be growing, he kept wanting more and more food. Peanut butter & honey half sandwich, chicken nuggets, cereal, pretzels, chips, peanut butter and jelly sandwich, more cereal. I don't know what else, that's all I can remember from the list Oliver mentioned to me.
13. Ryan finally moved up a coat size...or I finally pulled the bigger coat size from the basement for him to try on. He was very excited that it had a "double zip!" and two inside pockets. "It fits me perfect!"
14. Ryan and Oliver sitting at the table as I came back from the church, doing their homework. Ryan had a math packet to work on while Oliver was trying to figure out the route to the top of a nearby mountain peak.

Holiday Photos

Here are a few photos to show what we did for Christmas and New Year's.
Christmas songs on Christmas Eve with Oliver, Andrea, Macy, Grandpa & Ryan.
Beth joining Evan in one of his favorite activities.

Gifts in our stockings.

Christmas Eve after the children fell asleep.

"Santas" are working hard.

Merry Christmas!

Everyone enjoyed Ryan's present, Grandpa, Daddy, Ryan & Evan.

New Year's Eve cooks! Beth & Oliver prepping fondue, pizza crust, and so much more.

First day of the new year, Evan helping Grandma do dishes.
I can't believe I didn't get a photo of the puzzle(3000 pieces!! Never buy a puzzle that big!). I didn't get a shot of our mini musical program on Christmas day. No picture of us at Frozen on New Year's Day. No picture of all the playing and cuddling and just being together that happened either. Great end of 2013 and beginning of 2014.
